At the beginning of 2024 I decided it was time to start a project car to showcase some of the products and services that we provide at InSounds, the following is a evolving snapshot of the work that has gone into The Auris

Project Auris

The first job was swapping out the old JVC head unit for Kenwoods Flagship DMX9720 10.1" Head Unit with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

We then installed Hertz speakers to all doors, with the Mille Legend ML 1650.3 going into the front doors and the Mille Pro MPX 165.3 Coaxial in to the rear doors, all installed with Install Pro Baffle kits to provide moisture protection and a good seal from the front of the speaker to the door card

Now on to the doors:
The outer skins were again lined with DrArtex Gold and then a layer of 10mm Butyl Rubber insulation, butyl strips were pressed between the side intrusion beam and outer door skin.

All openings in the inner door skin were also sealed with DrArtex.

Large surfaces of the door card were treated with DrArtex and then a layer of 3M Fibre mat Decoupler, this stops unwanted sound transfer from one surface to another

3 way front stage: Continuing on with the selection of the Hertz Mille Legend door speakers, I used the Mille Legend ML700.3 midrange and ML280.3 tweeter mounted into custom A pillars, after considering the various mounting options, I went with "On Axis"  so the drivers are aimed almost directly to the drivers position, each of these speakers has their own dedicated amplifier channel meaning the time alignment and frequency response of each individual speaker can be tuned to create a near perfect frequency response for the driver

Wiring and Cosmetics:

This is where the creativity was required, picking an Amp layout running the cabling and then building a "Beauty Panel" to conceal the less visually appealing parts of the build

After the initial installation was completed a few minor changes were made, a Capacitor was added to help with voltage stability when the bass kicks in

The next step was removing the old sound treatment from the boot, and replacing with DrArtex Gold HD and then we could work on designing a sub enclosure For the Hertz MPS300 Subwoofer that would also provide the home for The Audison AFM12.14 DSP 12 Channel Amplifier and  Audison AF M1D 1000W Monoblock
